Mission
Covenant House Missouri exists to assist homeless, runaway and at-risk youth to enable them to become more independent, productive and contributing members of society. Our goal is to help these youth reach their full potential in life.
Background
Covenant House Missouri, established in 1998, is part of Covenant House International which operates 20 sites across 6 countries.
- Currently provides services to over 3,400 homeless, at-risk and runaway and abandoned youth annually in the St. Louis metropolitan region.
- Youth come to us from a range of life situations, including abuse, neglect, abandonment, mental illness, a breakdown of familial structure and lack educational experiences.
- Youth come from various geographic locations across Missouri and Illinois with 47% of the youth coming from St. Louis County.
Services Offered
- Emergency Shelter for youth ages 16-21.
- Street Outreach to homeless and at-risk youth.
- Transitional Living Program.
- Youth and Family Counseling.
- GED tutorial services.
- Employment Training.
- Drop in Center for community youth.
Youth Reached During 2009
- 2,200 Youth received supplies through the Outreach Program.
- 214 Youth were taken off the street.
- 39 Youth took advantage of Counseling Services.
- 36 Youth obtained a GED or completed high school.
- Over 350 Volunteers donated their time.
